Locked Studio, recap
What do you do when you happen to be locked out of studio? A) Do you sleep where you are? B) Do cry for help? C) Do you make the best of it? D) Update your website? E) Sleep it off?
Answer is none of the above, i decided to respond the locked door by opening a window.
Sitting at the studio window gave me a chance to reflect on that has happened since graduating last spring. It is crazy to think that I have been out of school for over a year. Where did the time go!?
A quick recap: May 2010 – June 2011
May ’10 : I graduated with a BFA from the Maine College of Art. I received a year long membership scholarship from Peregrine Press.
June ’10: I moved in the Artist Studio building with Kimberly Convery.
July ’10: I celebrated a milestone birthday with friends and family.
August ’10: I became a day & short order cook @ a restaurant.
October ’10: I installed my first solo show ever! I collaborated with students at Hamden Hall in CT.
November ’10 – January ’11: I earned major Mainer cred by surviving one of the longest, most miserable winters in Vacationland.
December ’10: The Artist Studio hosted their open studio event on First Friday Art walk.
February ’11- April ’11: My print work was part of the JAR Project @ Whitney Art Works.
May ’11: open studio
Participated in the Portland Museum of Art’s symposium on the artist studio.
June’11: I became a resident at the Quimby Colony.
